Sessions are $220 for a 50-minute consultation (one clinical hour), increasing to $245 from 1 November 2026. Depending on your situation, Medicare, WorkCover, NDIS or a first-responder program may reduce or fully cover this cost. Here is how each option works.
There are no hidden costs, and no referral is needed to book a private session.
Funding options
Private
Pay $220 per session ($245 from 1 November 2026). No referral needed, simply book online.
Medicare
With a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, you can claim a $101.55 Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions a year. You pay the full fee at your appointment, and we process the rebate back to you.
WorkCover QLD
With an accepted claim, WorkCover pays the fee directly, at no cost to you. Have your referral and claim number ready.
NDIS (Plan-Managed)
For Plan-Managed participants, where therapy aligns with your plan goals. Sessions are charged at the current NDIS price limit.
Private health
If you have extras cover, you may be able to claim part of the fee. Check your level of cover with your fund.
First responders & veterans
SelfRefer, FESSN or DVA may cover your sessions in full. First responders → Veterans →

From 1 November 2026: $245 − $101.55 = $143.45 gap.
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP (psychologist rebate from 1 July 2026). Medicare rebates apply to individual sessions only, up to 10 per calendar year.
Payment: Private and Medicare clients: when you book online, a $10 payment secures your appointment. This is deducted from your session fee, and the balance is payable at the time of your appointment. If your sessions are funded (WorkCover, NDIS, first-responder programs or DVA), there is nothing to pay; the fee is billed directly.
Please note: PsychologyAU does not bulk-bill, and does not write insurance or medico-legal reports. Medicare rebates are not available for reports, letters or couples sessions.
