1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the PsychologyAU website and to the telehealth psychology services provided by Dr Lynette (Lynn) Olivier (Psychologist) (“PsychologyAU”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an appointment or using our website, you agree to these terms together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Our services
PsychologyAU provides telehealth (online and telephone) psychology services to adults aged 18 and over. Sessions are delivered remotely; we do not currently offer in-person appointments.
Our services are available to clients who are physically located in Australia at the time of their session. Because of professional registration requirements, we are unable to provide therapy to clients located outside Australia.
3. Appointments, fees and payment
- Our current session fee is set out on our website and is payable at the time of booking.
- Where you are eligible for a Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover, DVA, private health, or other third-party or employer-funded rebate or arrangement, it is your responsibility to confirm your eligibility and to claim any rebate (unless we have agreed to invoice a third party directly, such as an NDIS plan manager).
- Bookings and payments are made through our secure practice management platform, Zanda (formerly Power Diary).
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand that circumstances change. You are welcome to reschedule your appointment yourself online through the booking portal at any time up to the notice period below.
- Notice period. To cancel or reschedule without charge, please give at least two (2) full business days’ notice before your scheduled appointment time.
- Late cancellations and non-attendance. Cancellations or reschedules made with less than two full business days’ notice, and non-attendance (“no-shows”), will incur a cancellation fee equal to the full session fee, as the appointment time has been reserved exclusively for you and cannot be reallocated at short notice.
- Illness. If you need to cancel at short notice due to illness, the cancellation fee will be waived on presentation of a valid medical certificate, provided it is supplied to us within 48 hours of the cancellation.
- You can reschedule or cancel through the booking portal, or by contacting us.
5. Telehealth requirements
To take part in a telehealth session, you agree that you will:
- have access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable device (computer, tablet or smartphone) with a working camera and microphone, or a telephone for phone sessions;
- attend from a private, quiet and safe space where you can speak openly and will not be overheard or interrupted;
- be located in Australia at the time of the session; and
- provide accurate contact details so we can reach you if the connection drops.
If technical issues prevent a session from going ahead and this is not due to your circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule.
6. Suitability and emergencies
Telehealth is suitable for many people, but it is not appropriate for emergencies or mental health crises, and it may not be suitable where there is a high or immediate risk of harm.
If you are in crisis or it is an emergency, call 000. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467 at any time. If we form the view that telehealth is not appropriate for your needs, we will discuss this with you and help you find a more suitable form of support.
7. Confidentiality and privacy
What you share in sessions is confidential. There are limited circumstances where we are ethically or legally required to disclose information — for example, where there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others, or where we are required by law. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Communication
Email and website messages are not a secure or monitored channel for urgent or clinical matters. Please do not use them to communicate anything requiring an immediate response. For urgent matters, use the emergency contacts in section 6.
9. Records
We keep clinical records as required by our professional and legal obligations, stored securely as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Liability
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from matters outside our reasonable control, including interruptions to internet or telecommunications services.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia.
